LIBERTY Life has halved its sales staff following a Lautro investigation that led to the life assurer being fined pounds 80,000 and ordered to pay costs of several thousand pounds. The company, which admitted failing to supervise staff properly, blamed the problem on a recruitment drive. Sales staff have been cut by about 200. Up to 100 investors will be refunded or compensated.
