FORGET PROFIT warnings and trading statements, K-Bar, the owner of some of London's trendiest clubs, yesterday issued the world's first "baby warning".

The company, which is listed on the fringe Ofex stock market, admitted that the birth of their finance chief's baby daughter was party responsible for a delay in its annual results.

The happy event, which will be greeted with joy by the trendy young customers of K-Bar's hip venues - including the famous K-Bar in Soho and the nearby Kabaret Club - meantfinance director Sarah Goodfellow has been on maternity leave.

Ms Goodfellow's leave added to some minor technical problems in the compilation of the accounts and led to a slight delay.

The managing director, Mark Kirkland, said that the final figures, due out yesterday, will be published next week. "[The maternity leave] hasn't helped because we are a small company, but there is nothing sinister and the auditors Saffery Champness are completing their work".
