Wallace and Gromit may be quintessentially British, but a "crisis" in the country's animation industry could drive its makers overseas, according to a senior manager. The animation industry could face an exodus as UK shows lose out to those made more cheaply abroad. Miles Bullough, head of broadcast at Aardman Animation, said: "When a company like Aardman is considering offshoring stop-frame animation, which we are at the moment, something's got to be wrong." He told the World This Weekend the lack of a tax credit similar to the film industry meant there "is genuinely a crisis" in UK animation.
