Aviva to announce £1.3bn profit
Sunday 31 July 2011
Insurance giant Aviva is expected to announce operating profit of nearly £1.3bn in its first half-results this week.
A consensus forecast of 20 analysts suggests that this will be a negligible increase on last year's interim figure of £1.27bn.
It is a busy week for the City, with companies in the commercial property sector issuing lots of results. FTSE 100 giant Hammerson announces tomorrow and, among others, will be followed by central London-focused Capital & Counties and industrial specialist Segro. The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England holds its annual meeting on Thursday.
