BAA's Heathrow sees busiest June on record
Heathrow has had its busiest June on record, with more than 6 million passengers going through its doors, the airport's operator BAA said yesterday.
Traffic across BAA's six airports was also strong, rising by 4.4 per cent to 9.9 million passengers last month. But while passenger numbers went up, air freight took a step down, as the post-recession bounce began to moderate. The overall volume of cargo at BAA's airports was down 1.5 per cent last month against a year earlier, although it remains 20 per cent higher than in June 2009.
