Amazon has launched its Black Friday bargain deals five days ahead of time.

More than 7,000 deals will be featured on the website from midnight on Monday November 23, with new offers going live every ten minutes, according to Amazon.

Discounts will be divided between “lightning deals”, which available in limited quantities for a short period of time, and “deals of the day” on selected products for one day only. Prime members get access to lightning deals 30 minutes ahead of regular shoppers.

Hundreds of British businesses, selling on Amazon Marketplaces, are also participating in Black Friday Deals Week for the first time this year, which means that there will be more items to chose from.

While more than 5.5 million items were sold at a rate of around 64 items per second on Black Friday in 2014, the online retail giant expects this year to be even better.

“This year, we have more than 20 times the number of deals we had in 2010 when we first introduced Black Friday to the UK and we’re expecting record numbers of customers to take advantage,” said Christopher North, managing director.

Prices will be cut by an average of 40 per cent. The biggest discounted items in cash terms being the Stuhrling women's watch, reduced by nearly £300 to £81.32 as well as a rowing machine, reduced by £250 to £799 from a starting price of £1,049.

Customers can save £25 on Amazon’s most popular Kindle e-reader available for just about £85.

British shoppers are expected to spend £1.07 billion according to research from Experian and e-retail industry association IMRG.

Top deals running from today include the lowest-ever price for an Amazon tablet, with the new Fire available for just £34.99. Fire TV Stick - the fastest-selling Amazon device in history - is also discounted to £24.99, while the Fire Kids Edition tablet, which comes with a year’s content with Fire for Kids Unlimited and a 2-year Worry Free Guarantee, is also available for just £69.99 - a discount of £30.

The onlien retailer features ‘Lightning Deals’ – products available at a discount, in limited quantities, for a short period of time. Amazon Prime members, including customers enjoying a free Amazon Prime 30-day trial, have an exclusive 30-minute early access period to all Lightning Deals.
