Canvas should be blocked, says Sky

BSkyB has become the latest media group to call on Ofcom and the Office of Fair Trading to block the launch of YouView, the internet TV venture formerly known as Project Canvas.

Virgin Media first complained that YouView, whose seven partners include the BBC, ITV, and BT, would stymie competition in August. Ofcom was expected to reveal its decision over the launch of a formal probe tomorrow.

Sky's late move means that decision is likely to be delayed.
