John Cresswell, the former interim chief executive of ITV, has been named as the new head of Arqiva, the broadcast-services company.
Mr Cresswell, who left ITV after handing the reins to Adam Crozier last year, will take up his new post on Monday, replacing Tom Bennie, who was with the company for 32 years. Arqiva's customers include ITV, BSkyB and the BBC.Arqiva is at the centre of the National Digital Switchover project, replacing more than 5,000 analogue transmitters with 3,700 digital ones as British broadcasting moves to a digital signal by 2012.
"Arqiva's assets are crucial in underpinning important developments in broadcasting and wireless communications and I will ensure we deliver on these developments," Mr Cresswell said.
