Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation yesterday said it would "vigorously" defend any legal action over the ownership of assets it recently bought in the DRC.
First Quantum, a Canadian mining company, said that it was considering suing the FTSE 100 group, seeking billions of dollars in compensation, after the Congolese government removed its licence to mine copper at the Kolwezi site, and sold it to ENRC.
"No proceedings have been issued against ENRC. If proceedings are issued, ENRC will defend its legal position vigorously," the group said.
