ExCel Centre prepares for hundreds of protesters as arms show opens
Hundreds of protesters are expected to converge on London's ExCel Centre this week as the Systems and Equipment International Show gets under way.
Exhibitors at the world's biggest arms show include the likes of GKN, the engineering group, which will unveil its new blast-proof armour. Other major exhibitors include BAE Systems, EADS and Fujitsu. The event attracted more than 26,000 people in 2008 and visitor numbers are expected to be higher this year.
