Potential bidders for loss-making free-to-air broadcaster Five have received information documents ahead of an estimated £200m sale.

JP Morgan is advising RTL, the Luxemburg-based group, which is majority owned by media giant Bertelsmann, on the sale. Interested parties, believed to include ITV and Sky, received the documents in the past two weeks. Five's best known face is Natasha Kaplinsky the £1m-a-year newsreader.
