Impetus Trust, the venture capitalist-style business that helps charities improve their business plans, is set to double in size. Chief executive Daniela Barone Soares said Impetus will look to back five or more charities a year from 2010.
Since Impetus's inception seven years ago, it has taken on 14 charities. Typically, Impetus and co-investors commit about £400,000 over four years to meet a charity's goals. Impetus has a pool of 150 experts who can be drafted in.
