The creative industries contribute an extra £3bn a year to the UK economy thanks to the value of their intellectual property (IP) and copyright.

The Government's Intellectual Property Office said it had recalculated their contribution, finding it was £3.2bn more than estimated.

Baroness Wilcox, a minister at the Department of Business, said: "It shows the Government is serious about understanding and promoting creative industries."
