Italian tax authorities investigate Agnellis
Italy's tax office is investigating the inheritance of Giovanni Agnelli, the late chairman and patriarch of the Fiat car empire, who died in 2003.
The authorities confirmed yesterday that they were conducting an enquiry into Agnelli assets after an Italian news programme said they were looking into claims that a fortune worth more than €1bn had been accumulated in Switzerland and allegedly never declared in Italy.
