Property giant Land Securities secured another major tenant for its Walkie-Talkie skyscraper as chief executive Rob Noel hailed a buoyant London market.

RSA is taking up four floors of the 160 metres-tall building at 20 Fenchurch Street in the heart of the capital's insurance district, leaving more than half the building let or in solicitors' hands with 18 months of construction to go.

Land Securities is securing rents of more than £60 per square foot, well above its £50 break-even mark.

Mr Noel said: "We have got very good interest from insurers but there is also a lot of interest from outside the sector." The UK's biggest-listed property player has also filled up the office space in its One New Change scheme in the City, and seen strong interest elsewhere in the capital in its new building at 123 Victoria Street.
