M&B appoints new chairman
Mitchells & Butlers has promoted its deputy chairman, Simon Burke, to replace John Lovering. Mr Burke joined M&B's board in January 2010 just after the Bahamas-based billionaire Joe Lewis and the Irish investors John Magnier and JP McManus backed a boardroom coup at the pubs group.
He is also chairman of HobbyCraft and a non-executive director of the BBC.
