MPs' anger as aid fails to reach car industry

The government must do more to help the car industry, and do it quicker, if irreplaceable industrial capacity is to be retained, MPs will say today.

It is "profoundly disappointing" that "not a single penny" has been advanced through the Government's £2.3bn Automotive Assistance Programme (AAP), despite its launch more than six months ago, says the Business and Enterprise Committee.
