Netplay on to a winner on late-night TV
Persuading late-night viewers of ITV and Channel 5 to call in and gamble on casino-style games is paying off for Netplay TV, the Aim-listed group whose annual profits have soar more than fivefold to £3m.
Revenues leapt by 32 per cent to £27.3m as Netplay also profited from its Supercasino.com and Jackpot247.com websites and its 24-hour TV channel on BSkyB.
Netplay credited its decision to invest in online marketing and the expansion of live roulette games on mobile devices. New customer numbers were up 61 per cent.
Charles Butler, the chief executive, said its relationship with broadcasters was "going from strength to strength", with the company now providing gaming shows on ITV six days a week.
