In Thursday's article, "The great balti bailout", incorrectly we wrote that Nick Macpherson, the permanent secretary to the Treasury, gave £12,700 to Gordon Brown's Labour leadership campaign. In fact it was Paul Myners, the former Marks & Spencer chairman and ex-director of GLG, who made this donation.
