The Office of Fair Trading has referred Dods' £12.8m acquisition of the politicial intelligence division of DeHavilland to the Competition Commission.
The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) says that evidence it has examined suggests the deal would reduce competition in a move that could result in higher prices or a reduction in quality for UK customers procuring political intelligence services.
Political intelligence companies monitor and track political issues on behalf of companies, and the OFT investigation into the deal found that Dods and DeHavilland were "by far" the two largest suppliers of such services.
