The company behind Play-Doh, the children's modelling clay, has won a trademarks dispute against a rival firm.

Hasbro claimed that 123 Nahrmittel GmbH and its distributor, Marketing and Promotional Services Ltd, had infringed its trademarks and passed off its powdered dough mix as Hasbro's by promoting Yummy Dough with the strap line "the edible play dough".

Mr Justice Floyd, at the High Court in London, said it was an important selling feature of Yummy Dough that it was intended to be played with as well as eaten. He concluded that the strapline was likely to cause confusion.
