Powell set for clear run in election for PwC chairman

Ian Powell is on course to be re-elected unopposed as chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the Big Four accountancy firms, with potential rivals left with only nine days to submit their candidacies.

In contrast to rival KPMG, where there are believed to be as many as 10 candidates for the UK chairman's job, only Mr Powell has put his name forward at PwC. However, he will still have to submit a manifesto detailing his plans for the business in what would be his second, and final, four-year term.
