Qantas Airways is not interested in revisiting merger talks with British Airways, the Australian airline's chief executive, Alan Joyce, said yesterday.
"Been there, done that," he said when asked about recent remarks by the BA chief executive, Willie Walsh, who said that, along with Iberia, he had identified a number of possible targets to pursue once BA completes its planned merger with the Spanish flag carrier.
BA and Qantas held merger talks back in 2008, when the Australian airline was led by Geoff Dixon.
"We are no interested," Mr Joyce, who took over after Mr Dixon stepped down in November 2008, said. "We are more focused on the Asia market and organic growth there."Reuse content
