Tom Ford, Abercrombie Kids, and Alice Temperley are all searching for shops in Mayfair, pushing the rents up in the roads off Bond Street.

Bond Street has long been known as the home of luxury in central London, but now a clutch of adjacent streets are on the hit list for designer brands.

Anthony Selwyn, a retail director at Savills, said: "While Mount, Conduit and Bruton Streets have been established for some time, there are now four or five other streets in Mayfair competing for the latest designer interest. This has resulted in significant rental growth with much more potential to come."

Other names looking for stores include Berluti, while Fabergé is close to securing a store on Grafton Street and Alexander McQueen has taken a store on Dover Street. Mr Selwyn said: "Bond Street's widening impact allows emerging brands and younger companies to enter the market."
