Venture capital website seeks £18m float

Venturedome, a company which aims to be Britain's "one-stop-shop" internet portal for the venture capital industry, is seeking an £18m flotation on the Alternative Investment Market. The float is expected to take place by the end of June.

Modelled on the American group Red Herring, Venturedome will provide news and analysis on the UK venture capital industry. It will also offer guidance on how the market operates and provide a medium through which participants can seek backing.

The company plans to raise £3m from the flotation. It has also appointed Chris Oakley, the chief executive of Regional Independent Newspapers, as its chairman.

Venturedome was founded last year by Darren Neylon, an Australian who previously worked at NM Rothschild. It plans to offer a one-stop-shop for companies seeking venture capital backing. Its revenue streams will include search-engine charges, sponsorshoip and industry seminars. Mr Neylon said: "We think we can make more deals happen."
