Who exactly is Warren Buffett? - AS by e-mail

Warren Buffett heads Berkshire Hathaway, a Nebraska-based former textile company, which he turned into an investment vehicle. It has returned more than 24 per cent annually for its investors since the mid-1960s. His personal wealth is measured in the many billions.

Many books have been written about this private man but the best way to find out about him is to read his annual letter to the shareholders of Berkshire. The past 15 or so letters can be found at www.berkshirehathaway.com and a new one is due out soon. The Boring Portfolio, a share portfolio run by the US Motley Fool (www.fool.com) recently bought shares in Berkshire.
