pounds 2m clear-up bill after City riot

Meanwhile, the Corporation of London estimated that cleaning up the worst- affected part of the City after the "Carnival for Capitalism" demonstration dissolved into violence would cost around pounds 2m. Although much of the cleaning up was done over the weekend, signs of disruption still remained. The main entrance at Liffe, the futures and option exchange, was still boarded up after being attacked with stakes, bricks and bottles on Friday, forcing traders to use a side entrance .
