The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) was said to be furious about Business for Sterling's claim that 64 per cent of CBI members opposed the euro. The CBI said the poll gave a heavy weighting to smaller firms and was "very unrepresentative" of CBI members.
A ROW broke last night between pro-and anti-euro groups over business support for UK euro membership. Pro-euro groups were enraged by a poll by Business for Sterling saying 63 per cent of bosses want to keep the pound. The Britain in Europe group claimed Business for Sterling was trying to "distort and misrepresent" attitudes of British business.
