Fibernet, a provider of high speed networks, is heading for AIM. Greig Middleton, the stockbroker, is handling a placing at 100p a share to raise around pounds 10m to finance the roll out of a national network which will link computers with faxes, telephones and videos. Managing director Charles McGregor will retain a 25 per cent interest. Dealings are due to start on 18 June.

Sale of a 5 per cent shareholding in Surrey Free Inns is intriguing. There is talk the shares have been acquired by a single buyer. If they have SFI should reveal the identity next week.

Stockbroker Panmure Gordon has cut its forecast for Hunters Armley, the printer, from pounds 4m to pounds 1.7m for this year. It looks for pounds 4m next. The shares held at 105p.
