Stories this week
Sunday 22 February 1998
The reporting season for the banks continues this week with NatWest, HSBC, Standard Chartered, Abbey National and Alliance & Leicester all reporting figures.
Football stocks have been the focus of attention over the last few weeks following the surprise sacking of Chelsea manager Ruid Gullit, and then Chelsea's inspirational 3-1 victory against Arsenal to reach the Coca-Cola Cup final with Gianluca Vialli at the helm. So far this year investors have seen a mixed performance as Bloomberg's Kick Index shows.
