oTepnel Diagnostics has been a disastrous investment; in the past year the shares have collapsed from 180p. They rose 10p to 33p with at least one stockbroker seeking stock, mopping up institutional offerings.

There are hopes recent board changes herald better days. Talk is also circulating of an intriguing American alliance. In the meantime a cash call is not expected for at least a year.

oRadstone Technology, which has won a £3m contract for navigational computer equipment for the Finnish air force, firmed to 113p.

The Liverpool stockbroker Neilson Cobbold is keen on the computer systems group. It expects profits for last year to have moved ahead strongly to £2.1m and has £2.5m pencilled in for this year. The shares were floated at 125p last year.
