Experimental antibody injections have boosted the ability of immune systems in mice to fight cancer, raising the possibility of advances in treating humans, scientists from the University of California report in today's edition of Science journal. They say the technique holds the greatest promise in treating secondary tumours which cause most cancer fatalities.
