British cinemas said they had their highest ever grossing turnover at the weekend with pounds 7,240,821 changing hands at the box office. The most popular films were the thriller, Seven, with Brad Pitt; the latest James Bond, Goldeneye; and Babe. The previous record was set by the opening of Jurassic Park in 1993.
