In our article ‘Insurance investigators accessed teen crash victim’s phone records’ (12 August 2013) we stated that the investigators worked for MIB, the Motor Insurer’s Bureau.
This was not correct. The MIB took part in the matter only to the limited extent of clarifying that there was an insurance company involved and any claim arising from the accident was their responsibility. The MIB had no reason, therefore, to be involved and did not instruct investigators. We apologise for our error.
