In “It was no holiday being married to Roman” (12 November 2008) we reported the publication of an article in the Russian edition of OK! magazine . We included some quotations from the article which purported to be an interview with Irina Abramovich. In fact, OK Magazine did not interview Irina Abramovich, who, we are told, has never given an interview to the press, and so none of the words attributed to her were quotations.

In Tuesday's Pandora, 'Time to polish off De Beers ,Stephen', we referred to a letter from the charity, Survival International, to Stephen Webster urging him to distance himself from De Beers.

Stephen Webster has asked us to point out that although a design of his is in the current De Beers collection this was designed several years ago and he is not currently working for De Beers.

The Pandora column on 8 and 23 August referred to Ian McCartney and his advisory work for Fluor. We have been asked to make it clear that Mr McCartney personally receives none of the remuneration for this role: part of the fee is used to employ someone in the House of Commons from his Makerfield constituency and the rest is used to support the Women's Interlink Foundation (www.womensinterlinkfoundation.org ), a charity based in India which provides disadvantaged women and children with drinking water, health treatments, housing and education. We apologise to Mr McCartney for not including this information in the letter we published from him and for the subsequent misleading Pandora item.

In Thursday's article ' Iceland blows town hall budgets', we wrote that The Zoological Society of London, which runs London zoo, had £500,000 of its money frozen by Iceland banks. In fact The Zoological Society of London does not have any funds invested in Icelandic banks.'

In yesterday's article, 'The great balti bailout', incorrectly we wrote that Nick Macpherson, the permanent secretary to the Treasur y, gave £12,700 to Mr Brown's labour leadership campaign. In fact it was Paul Myners, the former Marks and Spencer chairman and ex-director of GLG, who made this donation.

In an item in Tuesday's 'Pandora', 'Strange but is it true? The mysterious boycott of Little Britain', we quoted a New York radio presenter who said that he thought that the claimed West Hollywood Gay Lesbian Alliance protests about Little Britain's series for the USA were most likely planted by someone's publicist to generate publicity... ' We accept that MBC PR, publicists for Little Britain, did not do thiis. We also accept that 'Little Britain's new US show is not the 'most politically incorrect , offensive and obnoxious material ever seen in this country' and is suitable for broadcast. We apologise to all concerned.

In "Spare me the lectures from celebs" (18 August), Tanya Gold said: "The Carbon Trust pointed out that Travolta's carbon footprint is 100 times that of the average Briton." In fact, we had used Carbon Trust figures for the "average Briton" but The Carbon Trust works with organisations to reduce emissions and develop commercial low-carbon technologies and does not comment on an individual's footprint.

In an article on Israel’s 60th anniversary, (2 May 2008) we reported that it was illegal for Israeli civilians to go to the West Bank. We have been asked to clarify that this applies only to the areas of the West Bank under Palestinian control, and that the security barrier erected by Israel leaves many Palestinians on the Israeli side.

In our 8 June article headlined “Western giants feel the force of the Alfa males” we reported a reference in the Indian press that Mikhail Fridman was being investigated by anti-money laundering agencies in Europe. We can confirm that we have no evidence of any such investigation, and apologise to Mr Fridman. We also reported that Mr Fridman is the cousin of Dmitry Fridman, the director of a company, Farimex, which has brought proceedings against the Norwegian company, Telenor. We accept that neither Mr Fridman nor any Alfa Group company has any connection with either Dmitry Fridman or Farimex.

Our report on 23 April suggested that until the British tennis professional Robert Dee won a match in April this year, he had lost every previous professional match he had played, enduring a run of 54 consecutive defeats. We now accept that this was wrong as Mr Dee had won, and continues to win, many professional matches in Spain where he is based and plays most of his competitive tennis, including 20 matches in the last year alone. We apologise to Mr Dee.

The Bank of England has asked us to make clear that comments attributed to Mervyn King, Governor of the Bank of England, in today's Independent, which may have given the impression of being based on an interview, were drawn from an appearance before the Commons Treasury Select Committee on 26 June and may not necessarily reflect his current thinking on fast developing events.

Balli Group pls - an apology

Contrary to the impression given by the headline to the Pandora column on 13 June, the Temporary Denial Order imposed by the US Department of Commerce on a number of companies including Balli Group plc does not relate to arms but to passenger airplanes. We accept that the matter has nothing whatsoever to do with arms and we apologise to them and to Lord Lamont for this error. Balli Group plc's position is that the decision to issue the Order was based on inaccurate information, it has instructed attorneys to appeal against the Order and is fully cooperating with the Department's enquiries. We will pay substantial damages which Balli Group plc are donating to the British Red Cross.

An item in the Feral Beast column on 18 May ("Gilligan's success made sweeter by BBC blunder") stated that the information published by the Evening Standard in December 2007 about the London Mayor's Equalities Advisor, Lee Jasper, had been leaked a year previously to Tim Donovan, the political editor of BBC London, who had rejected the story as being of no news value. This was incorrect: the leaked emails were seen by Mr Donovan in September 2007 and BBC London's investigation into the allegations was ongoing when the Evening Standard published its first story on 5 December. We are happy to clarify the position.

On 1 June the Independent on Sunday published an article (in the Business section) mistakenly suggesting that Lord Coe, Chairman of London 2012, was in talks with the National Grid over a deal to make the London 2012 Games carbon neutral. We accept that such talks never took place and a document allegedly received by Lord Coe as part of 'talks' was never delivered. We are happy to clarify that London 2012 has no plans to make the Games carbon neutral and works with EDF Energy on sustainable energy supplies.
