All schools will face inspections without notice from this autumn, the new Ofsted chief says.

Sir Michael Wilshaw said it was vital the public had confidence in inspections. But school leaders warned they had "real doubts" inspections would improve.

Sir Michael said: "We are introducing no-notice inspections for all schools, not just those that are causing concern." Inspectors will no longer have to spend time going through documentation before visits, he said.
