I think you'll find that Brian Friel (noted as a past pupil of the University of Ulster) is not, in fact, a Eurovision songwriter, but an accomplished playwright with excellent plays such as Baile gan Gaire, Philadelphia, Here I Come! and Translations.

I hope he has a laugh about your error. It seems that Ireland has a plethora of Eurovision song writers!
