School puts happiness on syllabus
One of the country's leading independent schools is to put lessons in happiness on the timetable for the first time from September.
Wellington College, in Berkshire, says the lessons - devised by Nick Baylis of Cambridge University - are aimed at improving their pupils' chances of leading a fulfilling life. The lessons will cover how to improve chances of experiencing happiness, achieving good health and feeling a sense of accomplishment.
The move coincided with a call from the annual conference in Torquay of the NUT for the Government to spend more money ensuring children have more fun at school.
