John Foran, the Salford Reds assistant-coach, has been appointed assitant to the Ireland manager Steve O'Neill to help prepare the side for matches against France and Scotland later this year.
Keighley, of the First Division, have signed the former Widnes utility back Christian Tyrer, 24, who has spent the last season with the rugby union club Bath.
