The igloo hotel phenomenon has reached Italy's Dolomites.

A village of 15 igloos has been built for walkers 1,800 m above sea level on a natural clearing on Mount Ressetum, near Claut. The temperature is kept at freezing point but sleeping bags are provided. For more information contact Consorzio Valcellina (00 39 0427 878416; valcellina@libero.it).
