The Independent 100 tables - published every spring - are compiled by the Independent on Sunday in association with accountants Price Waterhouse. They are based on annual compound sales growth over a five-year period. The minimum turn- over in the first year is pounds 500,000.
To mark the considerable achievement of companies that manage to sustain fast growth, there is a further listing - published at the same time - called the Middle Market Award. To qualify for inclusion, companies will have to show sales of at least pounds 5m in the financial year ended 30 June 1992 and have more than 150 employees in the year ending 30 June 1996.
Since the listing was launched in 1990, it has become established as a prime indicator of the sort of high-growth companies that are now such important sources of economic wealth.
If you think your business can compete in this sort of company, contact Julie Harwood of Price Waterhouse for an entry form and return it to her at Southwark Towers, 32 London Bridge Street, London SE1 9SY not later than Friday 28 February.Reuse content
