Gold diggers

Gold pendants found on a skeleton dug up by workmen could be dated to the 7th century, a treasure trove inquest heard yesterday. Three pendants and glass beads formed part of a necklace buried with a young Anglo-Saxon woman. Builders Darren Manley and Terry Coombs, who found the 1,300-year- old skeleton last July while refurbishing houses in Mere, Wiltshire, were allowed to keep their find by a jury at Salisbury coroner's court.
