Labour has a 20-point lead over the Tories according to an opinion poll published today.

An NOP poll for Reuters put Labour on 50 per cent, well ahead of the Conservatives on 30 per cent. The Liberal Democrats polled 14 per cent while support for Sir James Goldsmith's Referendum Party was running at 2 per cent.

The figures show Labour holding a lead, even though 32 per cent of those polled thought a Tony Blair-led government would put up taxes while 19 per cent felt the Tories would raise them likewise.
