Labour MP dies of cancer
Terry Patchett, Labour MP for Barnsley East, died yesterday after a long fight against cancer. Mr Patchett, 56, had a majority of almost 25,000.
The Labour leader, Tony Blair, said: "Terry was the sort of MP on whom the Labour Party has always depended.
