Lottery pounds 11m goes pop
Britain's first pop music centre has been given pounds 11m of Arts Council lottery money, the fourth largest award for a project outside London. It will be built in Sheffield and open by 1998.
A model of the futuristic building was unveiled by Russell Senior and Nick Banks of Pulp in a Sheffield nightclub. At least 400,000 visitors a year are expected.
