Current Twitter trends: 'Unseen prequels,' 'Favorite Girl', Melbourne Cup

On the morning of November 3 people on Twitter are making up humorous titles for unmade movie prequels.

A few of the movie prequel titles people are suggesting on the microblogging site include, "Black Hawk Flying," "The Bourne Polite Request," "1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th Element," "Reservoir Pups," "The W Files" and "An American Werewolf Stuck at Customs."

Canadian singer Justin Bieber has taken to his Twitter and MySpace accounts to promote his latest single, "Favorite Girl." On November 3 Justin Bieber wrote via Twitter, "FAVORITE GIRL is on ITUNES NOW!!!!"

The 15-year-old pop singer is no stranger to the powers of social media marketing. In 2007 Bieber's mother posted videos of the young singer on video hosting site YouTube. The videos were an instant hit within the YouTube community. They also caught the attention of Bieber's current manager, Scooter Braun, who flew the youngster to Atlanta where he signed a deal with Island records.

On November 3 people in Australia are tweeting about the AUD $5.65 million (€3.5 million) Melbourne Cup race - considered by many to be the richest handicap horse race in the world.

The prestigious Melbourne Cup horse race took place in Melbourne, Australia on the morning of Tuesday, November 3. Hearts raced on the sideline as Australian-bred Shocking galloped past Irish contender Crime Scene in a last minute dash for the finish line.

The top 10 most talked about topics on Twitter on November 3 at 8:30 AM GMT are:
