THE BEST way to avoid violence may be to go to the pictures. Figures show that average weekly cinema admissions in the first quarter of this year were up 11 per cent on 1992, giving the industry the best start to the year since the Seventies. Nearly 28 million people went to the cinema in the first three months. According to the Cinema Advertising Association, which did the research, the boom will continue, with Forever Young, Sommersby and The Jungle Book playing to packed houses - and not an 18 certificate among them.
