CROSSOVER dance act, Faithless, will be weaving their spooky, spectral blend of chilled melodic grooves at an Ulster debut show, this week. The band, who release a new single, One Step Too Far, with former backing vocalist and Brit Award-winning superstar, Dido on April 8, are at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast tonight. Tickets are still available from Ticketmaster outlets and the venue box office, price £22.50. Support comes from cool new rock band, Alpinestars.

BELFAST-born singer-songwriter, Richard Gilpin showcases songs from his acclaimed 12-track album, Beautiful Mistake, at a trio of Ulster shows, this week. The versatile 32-year-old acoustic rock, country, blues and traditional music man, performs at the St Patrick's Day Festival in Donegal Town, today at 3pm; the Beachcomber, Rathmullen tonight, and The Bridge Bar, Ramelton this Saturday.

ONE of the UK's major dance music movers of the Nineties, The Orb's Alex Paterson joins forces with two other influential DJs tonight, for a pumping package entitled the Three Muskateers. The Orb DJ tour brings Paterson together with Lewis Keogh and Dr D, at the Empire Music Hall, Belfast. Admission is £7.

AWESOME Aussie classic heavy rock comes courtesy of tribute band, AB/CD at the Ulster Hall, Belfast tonight. Admission is £17.50.

HE MAY have been the runner-up in the telly talent show phenomenon, Pop Idol, but Gareth Gates is determined not to come off second best in this time around, in the singles race for the UK Number One. His vocally impressive but musically over-egged karaoke rendition of Unchained Melody comes out of the starting Gates tomorrow. But can it knock his Pop Idol mate, Will Young off the top spot?

CORK Jazz Festival favourites, The Byther Smith Blues Band are at the Ardhowen Theatre, Enniskillen's Gallery Bar on Thursday. Tickets are £6 - available from the box office, Tel 028-66325440.
