Zoe Telford

Last week I read...

About Comrade Duch in The Independent. His full name was Kang Kek Leu and he was second in command to Pol Pot in Cambodia and the first of his men to be put on trial for genocide. I went to Vietnam and Cambodia recently and visited S-21, a prison in Phnom Penh where a lot of the torture and executions took place.

"Duch" famously looked after this place, and I've taken more of an interest in what goes on over there since my trip. He managed to integrate himself into Cambodian society and was only found in 1998. He is admitting to his crimes, and suggests that under Pol Pot's regime nobody had a choice. I read a great interview with Daniel Day Lewis by Hanif Kureishi in Empire. I haven't seen There Will Be Blood yet but I'm really looking forward to it. The interview was mainly about the film and how they worked together (Kureishi wrote the script) but they've been friends for a long time so Day Lewis talked more openly with him.

Last week I listened to...

I listen to Radio 4 while I'm making my toast in the mornings. I heard a re-run of Bleak Expectations which is brilliant. It's a spoof drama based on all of Charles Dickens's novels. It's quite Blackadder-ish, really sharp and lots of fun, and produced by Gareth Edwards who also did Absolute Power.

Last week I surfed...

Animal Rummy (animalrummy.com)to buy a print from an artist called Rob Jones. He does all The White Stripes's artwork. I tracked him down to the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester which has a few signed editions but they're really hard to get hold of. Disque (www.disque.co.uk) is a music shop in Islington and if I can't get there I have a look online. I listen to everything – with the exception of metal and soft rock! DJ and musician Fatboy Slim has just done a compliation called Late Night Tales which is just brilliant. He's just had a dig around in his music collection and come up with the most fantastic CD.

Last week I watched...

Savile Row, a great documentary about tailors and the history of the street, on BBC4.

Zoe Telford stars in The Palace, Mondays at 9pm on ITV1.
