Gary J Sbona has been appointed president of Verity, following the departure of Philippe Courtot as president and chief executive.

Geac SmartStream (formerly Dun & Bradstreet Software) has appointed Bob Tyler as industry marketing manager. He joins from Halfords, where he held a number of managerial and IT posts.

Norsk Data has appointed Barry Hartop as managing director, following the retirement of Clive Higgins due to ill health. Hartop was formerly chief executive of the Millennium Exhibition and prior to that chief executive of the Welsh Development Agency.

Dodge Group has added Graham Wood and Martin Clarke to its sales team, where they will focus on the German, US and Japanese banking markets. Wood joins from Computer Associates, where he was client relationship manager. Clarke joins from Gentia.

Softimage has appointed John McQueen as worldwide marketing director. Softimage has also announced the promotion of Simon Davies to managing director for the UK and UK international territories. Prior to joining Softimage in 1993, McQueen served as business development manager at Tapestry. Davies joined Softimage in 1994 from Abekas Video Systems, where he held the position of product manager, digital disk recordingn
